Dear Residents,
Re: Marriott Waters Residents Club
Following the Marriott Waters Information evening convened by the City of Casey we have been advised that Council has considered many of the comments received in relation to the location of the proposed Residents Club and as a consequence have requested that the matter be put out for public consultation and comments.
A meeting was held between Villawood Properties and Council in an attempt to try and change their position in this matter however Council are adamant that an advertising process must be undertaken.
Villawood Properties are very disappointed with this outcome as it will inevitably delay the construction of the Residents Club.
As a consequence of this meeting, Villawood Properties have withdrawn the Residents Club from the existing Shopping Centre Town Planning Application in order to avoid any other delays in the construction of the shopping centre.
A new separate application will be lodged for the Residents Club and it will have to go through “due process” under Council direction.
Due to the delays we are now experiencing in obtaining the planning approval from the City of Casey for the Residents Club, construction will be delayed by a period of up to six months. We find this delay very disappointing however we have no control in the planning process and suggest that if you are aggrieved by the current position, contact should be made with the planning department of the City of Casey to obtain further detailed information.
We will keep you regularly informed as to the approval process by Council and clearly wish to restate that this action by Council is as a direct consequence of issues raised by residents on the night of the Council-held meeting.
Regards,
Villawood Properties
